Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer Switch and Remote for Music and Routines

It's good for falling asleep to music as a basic physical remote control for volume, track skipping etc, without having to wake yourself up yelling commands or looking at a bright screen.

I do wish it came with a dedicated TPU soft case / cover to protect it from falling off the bed onto a hard floor.

Also when I initially set it up, I could setup *both* long press and single tap for a total of 8 commands.

It happened to fall on the hard floor so I had to reset it. And now I only get one option for each button. Anyone have ideas how to go about fixing this, thank you.

I put a Bluetooth TV streamer remote into pairing remote and paired it with my android phone.

I did this because I wanted to use it to control media on my Amazon echo pop.

The volume buttons already work which is much better than having to use the phone volume buttons.

I found a button mapper app to allow me to set the buttons to advance media or play pause etc.

But what I don't understand is why Amazon doesn't have a more straightforward way of pairing remotes for controlling playback on their Amazon echo pop devices.
