Doras is a Cyran refugee living in Smoky Towers, Middle Menthis, in Sharn.[1] Once a village reeve in Cyre, Doras was away visiting his cousin in Smoky Towers when the Mourning happened and Cyre was destroyed.[1] Staying in Smoky Towers, Doras became something of an insurgent who exhorted his fellow Cyrans to serve Cyre. Both Sharn's Guardians of the Gate and Breland's King's Citadel monitored Doras, but thus far they have had no cause to arrest him.[1]
