Is Chenopodium ficifolium, aka Figleaf Goosefoot, any different for culinary use than Lamb's Quarters (C. album)?

I've got a bunch of it growing in the garden and I'm thinking about cooking it up.

I'm hoping there's some of those sunchokes you gave me among all these weeds!
And also hoping they can stand a lot of competition!

@Jeremiah too true! As a #counterculture suburban American dissident, I’m of the “mow less, bloom more” persuasion. It always amazes me how many of my fellow homeowners feel some intense drive to maintain and perfect their useless grass monoculture 😭

Harvested some young nettles in the garden yesterday along with some purple dead nettles. Sautéed that up with some butter, salt, and pepper, and served it from a bread experiment I bought yesterday. Local farmer was trying out a new wholewheat flour type, and I happened by the shop at just the right time. Eat those weeds.

I bought all four of Pascal Bauder’s books on foraging and preserving. They are way above my current skill level but I would rather have a hard copy than rely on the internet. Bought last week when my climate anxiety levels were screaming. #foraging #climateemergency #eattheweeds #foodsecurity
I weeded the garden this afternoon. Among the crabgrass was a lot of lambsquarters. Honey, can we have this for dinner? My wife tasted a leaf, thought for a minute, invented a recipe, and it was delicious. I’m all set for folate and omega-3’s for at least a week.

First feral asparagus spear poking through. I love how cute & weird asparagus looks. Can’t wait to eat me some!

Wait - autumn olive is a wild food?
I learned about autumn olive way back in the '90s in undergrad, and I've been hating it since, especially when it blooms and suffocates me with its heavy perfume. But how am I just now learning that its fruit is not just edible, but tasty??

Thousands of smelly flowers >> thousands of little fruits!
