Sam was a local legend and his strength inspired every athlete who knew of his plight.
Of the tributes pouring in was very touched that high flying Nottingham Forest spoke kindly of his passing, beautiful.

Incredibly sad day to lose this local legend.
Never met him but his influence on the Tri club I coach and his willl to overcome.
We did a charity event for him last year and will return with it in November-Bringing runners together for a great cause and bringing smiles.
This is a truly awful condition we must overcome
