AGI - La Fondation italienne Med-Or a accueilli la semaine dernière dans ses locaux une journée de formation consacrée à la cybersécurité et à la protection des infrastructures électorales critiques.
La rencontre a rassemblé les représentants des commissions électorales des pays prioritaires du Plan Mattei, ainsi que de l’Association africaine des autorités de gestion électorale (AAEA), qui regroupe 45 membres, en plus des réseaux régionaux d’Afrique centrale, occidentale, australe et orientale, assurant ainsi une représentation complète du continent africain et de ses commissions électorales.
Un cadre de coopération euro-africaine
Cet événement a réuni des représentants d’institutions électorales africaines, des partenaires européens et des acteurs italiens. La session s’inscrit dans un programme structuré d’activités de formation organisé cette semaine à Rome, visant à renforcer la gouvernance démocratique, la résilience institutionnelle et la coopération entre l’Europe et l’Afrique.
Sécurité électorale et nouvelles technologies
Les discussions ont porté sur des thèmes essentiels tels que la sécurité des processus électoraux, la gestion des risques cybernétiques et l’impact des nouvelles technologies, avec une attention particulière portée à l’intelligence artificielle.
Un engagement durable pour l’intégrité électorale
Cette initiative – réalisée dans le cadre du programme Pro-Electoral Integrity, financé par le ministère italien des Affaires étrangères et de la Coopération internationale et mis en œuvre par le Centre européen de soutien électoral (ECES) en partenariat avec la Commission de l’Union africaine, l’université LUISS et la Fondation Imagine the Change – confirme l’engagement de Med-Or à promouvoir le partage des meilleures pratiques et à soutenir des formes de coopération internationale face à des défis mondiaux de plus en plus importants, avec un accent particulier sur les pays africains et la coopération entre l’Europe, l’Italie et l’Afrique.

The meeting brought together representatives from the electoral commissions of priority countries within the Mattei Plan, as well as the African Association of Electoral Management Authorities (AAEA), which groups 45 members, plus regional networks in Africa Central, Western, Southern, and Eastern, ensuring complete representation of the African continent and its electoral commissions.
A Euro-African Cooperation Framework
This event brought together representatives from African electoral institutions, European partners, and Italian actors. The session is part of a structured program of training activities organized this week in Rome, aimed at strengthening democratic governance, institutional resilience, and cooperation between Europe and Africa.

Discussions focused on key themes such as electoral process security, cyber risk management, and the impact of new technologies, with particular attention to artificial intelligence.

This initiative – carried out within the Pro-Electoral Integrity program, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) in partnership with the African Union Commission, LUISS University, and the Imagine the Change Foundation – confirms Med-Or’s commitment to promoting the sharing of best practices and supporting forms of international cooperation in the face of increasingly important global challenges, with a particular focus on African countries and cooperation between Europe, Italy, and Africa.
