I played #EarthborneRangers Monday and #ImperialAssault yesterday with my regular heavy-gamer crew.

Both are pretty fun. Earthborne Rangers has a sweet, #SolarPunk vibe and is reasonably "family weight". It's not light by any means, but it seems like the kind of game a precocious 10 or 12 year old wouldn't have trouble with.

Imperial Assault is #StarWars _straight_ from my nostalgia era. Players are split with one player as Imperials and everyone else Rebels. Imps were played quite well, and the "one vs all" dynamic was fun, especially because we all play full coop games together and have a very "work the problem out loud" vibe, with varying STFU points.

We've started scheduling the next session before we leave, which has made coordinating campaign games much more successful.

Trying for 2 at once feels _highly_ ambitious, but we're playing Earthborne Rangers at 3.

Playing #EarthborneRangers and a pivotal NPC randomly got struck by lightning so we failed the mission we were on with no player agency at all. Didn’t feel *great*. There are flashes of brilliance in the game but overall it seems curiously unpolished in places to me. #BoardGames

It arrived!! Miss 12 and I played through the prologue this evening, and she picked all the connect and care and heart symbol cards, as I predicted! She said it was interesting and she loved the art, so hopefully when we continue from Lone Tree Station she stays hooked! #EarthborneRangers

But sheesh... that rule book is really hard to digest and that prologue is not really helping! Especially for a game, that at its core, is not that complex!
Anyway, the game itself is amazing, and I can see it becoming a household staple here! #boarsgames #EarthborneRangers

Finished our first session of Earthborne Rangers today. I completely understand the hype. I love what the game is doing to the living card game formula and how it tries to enable narrative gaming in this genre.#boardgames #EarthborneRangers

Yesss! It finally came! #EarthborneRangers. Of all the games in my shelf and of those still en route; this is definitely one of three games that I'm super hyped to keep, collect, and play 😁

Maybe the wife could be convinced to try it too as coop! She did enjoy #AlteredTCG because of the #solarpunk theme, artwork, and lack of direct combat.

Monthly #boardgames plays for July 2025, statistics and graphic as always via the #bgstats app from the good folks at @BGStatsApp.

I finally introduced my group to #AFeastForOdin, and though it took a bit to go through the rules, they really enjoyed it by the end.
I also got a couple plays in for two new highly thematic games, #EarthborneRangers and #Vantage. I love how quick Vantage is to setup, and ER evokes Arkham Horror LCG familiarity, albeit greener and less deadly ones.

Stayed up way past my bedtime playing Earthborne Rangers, and I am bummed I'm not still playing.
Three days into the campaign and we've already seen so much interesting stuff!
