BREAKING - EU Commission prohibits the acquisition of #eTraveli by #Booking

The Commission has found that
1️⃣ Booking is a dominant hotel online travel agency (OTA), market share > 60%
2️⃣ eTraveli is an important provider of flight OTA services
3️⃣ the acquisition would generate significant additional traffic for Booking's platform
4️⃣ the increased traffic would reinforce network effects, increase barriers to entry and strengthen Booking's dominant position

Following a dialogue with the 🇪🇺 Commission & national consumer authorities, major online travel agencies commit to
➡️refunds within 14 days for cancelled flights
➡️better informing consumers of their rights on cancelled flights
