9th May 26 was Endemic Bird day & also Himalayan Bird Count Day

Normally our group would have gone crazy - with birding events in 3 or 4 locations. This year subdued - people on assignment & in different locations. So took the opportunity to slow walk through a village forest

Did some birding today! My wife and I went to a castle next to the river which has a nice park. Beautiful day!

Saw a bunch of birds: Swan, European Starling, Common Swift, Eurasian Moorhen, Great Cormorant, Egyptian Goose, Great Egret, and others

I had previously heard a European Starling but never seen one even though they're super common. It was really cool to see them show off their iridescent colors when sitting under the sun

Just submitted my checklist to #eBird

〈政府假護國神山破壞草鴞棲地讓台積電背負草鴞殺手惡靈之名〉

根據全球公民科學資料庫eBird的長期紀錄，這農場曾出現過161種鳥類，其中36種是保育類；根據TBN與iNaturalist等線上資料庫，在這農場活動過的物種高達360種，其中保育類動物有35種（包括一級保育類的草鴞）、受脅動物3種（小雲雀、棕背伯勞、粉紅鸚嘴）、受脅植物4種（無柄田香草、台灣蕨藜、菲島福木及毛柿），顯然這是生態重地，是開發選址時應優先迴避的區位。
