The single most seen and most infamous photo I've ever taken; this shot cost me a (contracted) job on the Microsoft campus and launched me into early-2000s "fired for blogging" internet notoriety, complete with getting Slashdotted. If you're actually curious enough to dig through the whole sordid story, start at the bottom of this page and read backwards: https://michaelhans.com/eclecticism/tag/15-minutes-of-fame/page/4/

Years ago (in Seattle, at the corner of 8th and Seneca, kitty-corner from the Town Hall building) there was a fire in the apartment building next to mine, and I got to watch as firefighters used their ladder truck to rescue residents from the upper floors. That building was soon condemned, and some time after I'd moved away, it and the building I was living in at the time were torn down.

Another old one with a crappy-by-today’s-standards point and shoot that still looks good to me today (at displayed-on-screen-for-social-media sizes, at least).
