All the parts we sell begin their journey to customers with a trip by bicycle.

That was the last bike ride in May. In total I covered 485 km with the Mango velomobile last month. Clearly that's the choice for most of the longer rides.
I also rode 202 km with my two wheel recumbent bike. It's very nice to use for rides through the countryside: It fits on narrow countryside paths better than a three-wheeler and it is less conspicious when parked in city centres.
Then I rode 144 km with my traditional town bike. It's always surprising how much distance is covered on the town bike. It's only used for short journeys within town, but there are a lot of those short journeys: On average last month I rode it about 4.6 km per day.
I also rode about 29 km with my racing bike. It's super fun to ride: I can pretend that I'm (a very weak version of) Eddy Merckx for a few minutes. But as my arms and wrists don't like the vibration through the handlebars it's not a bike that I ever ride very far.
In total that's 860 km, or about 100 km more than my monthly average for the last quarter.
I like all these bikes. They're all fun and useful. One day we can be one kind of cyclist, and the next we can do something completely different.
Total cost of ownership / km travelled, even for multiple bikes, is virtually nothing after a few years.

This morning began with an NL Alert.
Mobile phones across the country made a horrible noise and woke everyone up at 6:30.
We're too high to flood, so it was either nuclear war, or (more likely) the horrible weather that we were expecting.
It was a Code Red alarm and the weather was worse than had been predicted. No-one was supposed to venture outdoors even walking until at least 14:00 because it was so lethally slippery absolutely everywhere. It was clear even from looking through the window that anywhere that ice could settle was like a skating rink.
This afternoon after the alert was over I packed some parcels, put a bit of salt and grit on some remaining ice on our own driveway, and cycled to the post office. I shouldn't have bothered: they were shut.
Oh well. These customers will have to wait until tomorrow.

We have weather warnings for black ice (ijzel) today. I swapped the front tyres on our town bikes so that we can still cycle with a good degree of safety, and then cycled to the city centre for a new hot water bottle (kruik).

More parcels of bike parts beginning their journeys to customers.
This time I've taken the photo on a cycle-path heading into a tunnel. If I were driving a car I'd be heading toward that traffic light on the left, but the cycle-path goes through the tunnel so I never have to stop when cycling.
This is a good example of how to give cyclists an advantage and make cycling more efficient than driving.
Though I've lived here for a long time now, I still find it amazing that I can use cycling infrastructure of this quality on a daily basis, that it works so well, enabling so many people to ride bikes, and that it keeps everyone safe.

Parcels of bicycle parts on their way to customers. I stopped in the city centre for a bit to take a photo and it was a bit deserted due to the rain starting again.
If you can't find what you need locally, I can send parts to almost everywhere in the world, but there are exceptions.
I can't ship to the UK or US because both of those countries have decided to enforce trade sanctions against themselves.
I also won't shop to any country which has a horrible human rights record or is currently carrying out a genocide. Or both. Don't want blood money.
