Does anyone have suggestions for a good grid mapping tool to use whilst at the table? Preferably better than gridded paper.

We just started the megadungeonish Dungeon of the Mad Mage and I’d like to map our PCs path as we progress. Apps I’ve looked at so far haven’t been quite right for various reasons. I’d also like something easy to pop in my Obsidian vault.

There are interesting discussions today regarding fudging die rolls in #penandpaper #ttrpgs. My position is that I want to tell an interesting story. I root for my players. However, actions have consequences. I use Roll20 and almost all rolls are public. Only in some official #DND modules, like #DungeonoftheMadMage is the default set to DM rolls. That said, #DND #5E and especially some official modules suffer from a dependance on randomness that can make or break the game. This can be mitigated.

What #vtt are you using for your #ttrpgs ? I have been using Roll20 for several years and even subscribed, because I really like the dynamic lighting functionality, especially for #dungeon crawls like #DungeonoftheMadMage ( #DnD )! It still has a lot of issues and you have to buy the module from them (no PDF). A player of mine set up #foundryvtt for our #KultDL #KultRPG sessions, but, alas, I haven’t yet delved into it. #penandpaper #online
