@audreygwinter Context: I'm looking at running some seminars or classes at my local library to teach people how to become #DnD dungeon masters. I've done this twice before, but that was an individual effort, not groups.

Q: Does becoming a DM have prerequisites, like playing the game for X years beforehand? Other requirements?

Q: What are the basics a person must learn to start out as a DM?

The "#THAC0 is not subtraction" argument is especially infuriating to me, because it's popular on #reddit, and dependent on the idea that #DungeonMasters were supposed to announce opponents #ArmorClass to players. That's a really amateurish style of old school. No adult should play like that, or defend play like that.
