Talking with machines

Belated, but I had a blast running Long Time Listener Last Time Caller for the final session of the #DS106RadioSummerCamp Special shoutout to my awesome players @shauser @carpetbomberz @jimgroom @taylorjadin, Terry & Jason -- you guys made this experience super special. Never underestimate the power of CHEESE!

“Long Time Listener, Last Time Caller” with Pilot Irwin

Welcome to the a-rock-alypse, where sweet jams are shredding the world and we’re reaching the teardown that follows this concert we call life. But even as the big picture is breaking down, we’re still working to fix the small things. If your website’s down, your car’s kaput, or your flame-throwing guitar isn’t igniting properly, you know what to do: call Armageddon’s one-and-only fixit hotline radio station! Long Time Listener, Last Time Caller is a roleplaying game about a radio station broadcasting at the end of the world. This session, which will happen remotely and run about an hour, takes inspiration from Car Talk and Mad Max — just don’t expect any realistic advice. Pilot will play the role of the radio host. If you’d like to play a caller, please reach out and let them know so they can get you all the info you need to join. Download MP3

Here's another one of those 'digital natives' with a website:

I deleted all my social media and made a website

A "digital native" (don't @ me - I'm making a point!) talking passionately about building their personal website - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNlZ50b6wSs

This is one of several such videos I've stumbled over in recent months of younger people (whatever that means) encouraging each other to build personal web spaces. Positive signs that the tech tide is turning...

Why YOU Should Make a Website!

Totally with you @marendeepwell as we used to advise on #openedsig Keep your stuff! Never trust some current organisation/business/individual to care as much as you do about your stuff. #ds106radiosummercamp
OK I am now hooked on #ds106radiosummercamp so I will be adding this to my podcast stream so I can listen and move around! #liberation from the laptop!
In praise of #audio the #ds106radiosummercamp discussion touches on #accessibility and access of a radio/podcast format. Overcoming time differences and the challenges of personal bandwidth where open social media channels help to continue to conversations.
Struck by the post from @chendricks which draws on #ds106radiosummercamp and the work of Tim Fawns: it is important to focus on our values. I can feel a blog post coming on!
@eLearningTechie @proftmac The Ed Tech Mansion was great - I was making pancakes while listening to it. Last night I made dinner without #ds106RadioSummerCamp 😭
Whilst I'm listening I am also reading the blog posts resulting from #ds106radiosummercamp and enjoying the multiple voices in my head @nomadwarmachine @marendeepwell @chendricks
