Marcello Hernández e Skyler Gisondo entram para o elenco de “Shrek 5” como os filhos de Shrek e Fiona

Neste Dia de Ação de Graças, a DreamWorks Animation anunciou dois novos nomes que se juntarão ao elenco de vozes de “Shrek 5“: Marcello Hernández (Saturday Night Live) e Skyler Gisondo (Superman). A dupla dará vida a Fergus e Farkle, filhos de Shrek e Fiona, completando o trio de herdeiros ao lado de Felicia, personagem interpretada por Zendaya.

O anúncio foi revelado durante o tradicional Desfile do Dia de Ação de Graças da Macy’s, quando o gigantesco balão do ogro apareceu na transmissão. Hernández e Gisondo celebraram a escalação nas redes sociais, o comediante do SNL chegou até a posar com maquiagem verde de ogro, em tom bem-humorado.

O longa marca o primeiro título da série principal desde “Shrek Para Sempre” (2010), e contará com o retorno de Mike Myers (Shrek), Eddie Murphy (Burro) e Cameron Diaz (Fiona), além da estreia de Zendaya, que interpretará Felicia, filha de Shrek e Fiona. A direção será assinada pelos veteranos Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Madagascar 2) e Walt Dohrn (franquia Trolls), com Brad Ableson (Minions: A Origem de Gru) como co-diretor.

A produção fica a cargo de Gina Shay, veterana da franquia, e de Chris Meledandri, CEO da Illumination, responsável por sucessos como Meu Malvado Favorito, Minions, Sing e Super Mario Bros.: O Filme.

No final de fevereiro deste ano, o primeiro teaser foi lançado que não foi bem recebido pelos fãs, com muitas críticas ao novo design dos personagens, que abandonaram os traços realistas dos primeiros filmes em favor de um estilo mais cartunesco.

Baseada no livro de William Steig, a saga Shrek já arrecadou US$ 2,9 bilhões globalmente, venceu o primeiro Oscar de Melhor Filme de Animação (2002) e gerou musicais premiados, atrações turísticas e spin-offs, incluindo dois longas de O Gato de Botas.

“Shrek 5” estreia nos cinemas em 30 de junho de 2027.
