Okay... it just occurred to me that I'm a doula.

"Dafuq??"

Hear me out.

At the neuroqueer meetings, I don't pontificate for two hours. I am facilitating the discussion. Like a doula. The doula does not give birth but facilitates the birth.

Similarly, when I tutor, I usually facilitate the student's understanding. They bring me their problems and we discuss them. I explain theory as needed.

(I could teach a class from scratch, but I've not done it, and to be frank, I don't think it is a great use of anyone's time or money.)

It’s a short book with beautiful images that has roots in my PhD research on #visualization and art in Chinese religious traditions, in my own experience using visualization during birth, and in years of reading about visualization across fields such as neuroscience, philosophy, and sports psychology.
