Did some #DotPainting the last couple of nights. :) Made a little metallic blue and gold magnet, and also got started on a new larger stone with a flower-like design on it. Still trying to figure out the rest of the colours.

And the second stone is a little one I made for myself, a "worry stone" to replace my old one which I gave to a friend.

This stone features thick dollops of gloss glaze on top of the dot shapes forming a raised/textured surface that is wonderfully tactile and lovely to rub your fingers over. It turns the stones into lovely little fidget toys or meditation tools.

Anyway, I'm really fond of this one! It feels wonderful to hold and to fidget with. It uses some of my favourite colours, too.

I have a couple dot paintings to share with you today! The first one I finished up last week sometime, a rather detailed one with colours and patterns inspired by Princess Jasmine from the Disney movie "Aladdin".  

I really like the blue/turquoise patterns in this one. The gold shapes on the outside were an experiment, but they're also kind of neat!

Well, that's fairly definitive!  

I got my watercolour pencils delivered from Opus, so I did this quick little test to see how well they erase with water compared to my old marking tool (soapstone marker).

I got four different colours of watercolour pencil: white, yellow, grey, and blue, for use on different coloured backgrounds. "Control" is the soapstone marker.

The second picture shows just part of the marks erased with a wet q-tip. The third picture is when washed completely under a wet sponge.

And yes, the watercolour pencil is a definite win! :D Super legible, precise, and erases completely with water. The soapstone marker works well too, but it doesn't always erase completely. It usually doesn't show under gloss, though, so I haven't worried much about it up until now; it's worked for my purposes.

So happy to have more tools to play around with. :)

Slowly playing around with simple celtic knots. A triquetra, or Trinity Knot, for this one. I'll put some WIP pics in the replies for anyone interested.

I was playing around with sketching petal shapes on a grid, and thought this looked a lot like an echeveria or other kind of succulent, so I ran with it. :D

Really pleased with this one! 🪴  The whole design and colours just fill me with joy. ☺️

A quick post and run… a couple of dot painted stones I made in the last week. The first one was just a free-handed geometric pattern I drew on the initial grid, and the second features pastel colours chosen by a friend of mine. The pattern for that one wasn't planned or anything, it just came out as I went.

(I playfully call the design in the second one "Pastel Butt-Stuff". X) I'm such a child, haha.  )
