This day, seen with a slightly clearer view, we have realized that our trip back to Germany in October 2023 may turn into an adventure as the snow border on the mountains was quite low while we had to drive more than 100 km over a mountain pass located 1000 meters above sea level. Well, an adventure was something we searched for but, finally, everything turned out quite well. 😉 !

After passing Lillehammer (remember the Winter Games 1994?) we encountered this site near Fåvang scaffolded in fog in the early morning. Still not knowing what "Rom" (city of Rome?) has to do with this, we didn't think further about the potential meaning of the painted letters. Great scenery anyway!

Later we discovered that it meant "Room" or "Room for rent" - but in this morning back in 2023, it was somehow some kind of riddle...

Seeing a complete Aurora Borealis is (still) one part of my personal bucket list. Two years ago in early October, I was closer to reaching this goal than ever before, but as the forecast was still moderate, this scenery at 2 am was the best I could achieve - this time!

Hope is the last to die. Better luck sometimes in the future (and no, even 2024 and 2025 didn't bring this thing to life!)!

The Big Elk, also known as #Storelgen (meaning "big elk" in Norwegian), is the world's second-tallest sculpture of an elk/moose (Alces alces). It is near the village of Atna in Stor-Elvdal, Hedmark, Norway. It held the title of the tallest moose sculpture for 4 years, from its completion in October 2015 until October 2019 - on our way back to Larvik we finally made it to this great sculpture close to National Road 3.
