My favourite tree (not just because some of my mother’s asses were offered up here). The Chandos Oak 900 years old (+) named in the #DoomsDayBook of 1086 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domesday_Book.
Surrounded by a beautiful walked #Garden
I regularly visit mum here, offer brandy and tobacco and spend time with her spirit and the nature spirit of this magnificent tree. Bless Her.
Domesday Book - Wikipedia

Holy cow, Connie Willis' "Doomsday Book" was amazing. A slow burn for the first half, and then everything lets loose. This was obviously a well researched novel. The way the characters (especially the Americans) acted during the epidemic was strikingly accurate to my own covid experience.
