Silver ArrowsI've got as far as packing two small boxes. I'm trying to get all my bird feeders packed up, but I set up my feeding station many years before I worked in bikes, so I didn't know the importance of greasing joints. The feeder pole is over 2m high, so I need to dismantle it to store it.
So far I've tried pouring boiling water over the joints then spraying GT85 onto it and also squirting it into the opening of the pole so it can work from the inside too. Stop giggling in the back. No sign of it loosening, so I'm going to let it soak and reapply the GT85 every day or so. It doesn't help it's raining. Also doesn't help that I'm physically very weak.
What do you think my chances are? The last resort is sawing it at the joints. It's a good strong pole, they don't make them like this anymore, so I'd like to save it.
Lesson: always grease metal joints and reapply grease every year or so.
