It looks like #doist are increasing the subscription prices for #todoist by around 63% from December. Time to look for other options. A quick search doesn’t reveal too many other options for #todo list apps. Does anyone have any #recommendations? Ideally, any solution should:
- Be cross platform (iOS, Win, Mac OS)
- Support shared projects / lists
- Support “email to task”
- Have deadlines / reminders

🦋"Once upon a time, I, Zhuang Zhou, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Zhou. Soon I awakened, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man." - #Zhuangzi, Ch 2 tr Burton Watson

I'm really liking the way that #Todoist is developing their #calendar feature, so much so that I've decided to cancel my #Morgen subscription and no longer use #GoogleCalendar. 🙂

Looking forward to seeing how #Doist continue to evolve it!

As I mentioned on yesterdays #TechnicallyWorking, i'm using #Todoist again and so far have been fairly happy to be back home with my project management tool of choice. I have submitted additional feedback to #Doist, however control+Q gets me to the quick add edit field to add items to my inbox consistantly now… I prefer navigating Todoist to Apple’s reminders app on macOS for sure. https://pnc.st/s/technically-working/759a0bf9/tw37-ai-music-custom-gpts-tech-exploration

In Episode 37 of "Technically Working," Damashe and Michael share a sincere thanks to their supporters, humorously mentioning how even the cost of chicken wings makes their help valuable. They also dive into their streaming setup, talking about

I wrote about our approach to #OSS donations at #Doist and shared details about 2022: https://doist.dev/posts/our-donations-to-oss-in-2022

…which all feels twice as relevant on this #fosstodon instance I'm in. :)

I'm fond of this approach for multiple reasons:
- Donating is a ritual, not a one-off.
- Amounts are tied to growth. We do well, we donate more; we do poorly, we donate less.
- Choices are pooled from the team, from things we use.
- Underfunded projects take precedence.

There's still time in 2022: donate!

Our donations to OSS during 2022

Why and how we donated $7295 across 14 projects and maintainers in 2022

By the way: That's a cup of Twist.com. The team of #Doist created these cups. I love their initiative for more #asynchronous work.

I guess I should properly introduce myself, since I failed to do that with my first post...

My name is Ricardo, and I'm from Porto, #Portugal 🇵🇹. I've been a computer and technology enthusiast ever since I saw my dad #coding in Visual FoxPro, almost 30 years ago. How time flies!

Nowadays, I'm a Frontend Engineer at #Doist, building #Todoist and #Twist, the future of #remote and #async work.
