My town is handing out whistles at the library. If every dog walker had a whistle and used it when they saw ICE activity, it seems like response times would be much faster.
I’ve been thinking about this recently:

Here’s a place that was once considered sacred ground….until it wasn’t. When a few concerned citizens got involved, things changed (one of my friends was involved). From the article:
**The K-9 Corps, a group of dog owners whose activities helped drive away the drug dealers, was organized in 1997.**
What if dog owners/walkers in ICE-besieged cities organized to protect their immigrant neighbors?
Sometimes the ways of the world get me down. Why oh why can't we just be nice to each other?
But all that negativity disperses when I do the morning dog walk. Life isn't so bad after all is it?
Have a great weekend everybody!

Glendale park has multiuse trails - most are suitable for people with limited mobility(very little elevation grade & paths are wide enough), strollers friendly, bicycles friendly(go slow!), kids & equestrians use it often too. The trails border along rural private & public greenspace/forested lands. This side trail is the Dog Walker's Loop & winds through the forest - fab to take your dog friends there.
The main trail connects to the Saanich trails system which also connects to the Galloping Goose trail system.

Does walking with a dog enhance the experience of walking? If so, in what way? For poet Susan M. Schultz and walking artist and writer Ernesto Pujol, walking with dogs offers a means to meander, to shift perspective, and to marvel again and again at the oddity of the humans they encounter, sometimes affable, sometimes confrontational.
