On June 29, 1953, an American F-86F Sabre shot down a Soviet MiG-15 over the Yalu River in Korea. The area around the Yalu River earned the nickname “MiG Valley,” a hotspot for fierce #dogfights between #MiGs and #Sabres. Soviet pilots often flew with #Chinese or North Korean markings to conceal their involvement.

Investigators found battery jumper cables,…allegedly used to #execute #dogs at #Moorefield’s house, along w/ 5…dogs at his house & 5 dogs at #Flythe’s house…. The #FBI, #USDA & other local & fed agencies raided both houses on Sept 6, …finding weighted collars & heavy metal chains used to increase fighting dogs’ strength. Authorities said they also found “an apparatus that is used for involuntarily inseminating female dogs” & stains “consistent w/bloodstains from #dogfights.”
