I was on a zoom call last night, unrelated to bicycles or roads or such. The host of the call had been explaining their research in a particular area. The person is quite a distinguished and knowledgeable person in the field. The reason we were there was because of this person.

Justice Schabas found that Ontario's law, Bill 212, violated section 7 of our charter rights.

The court was impatient with the Ontario government having no evidence to back up its claims.

The bike lanes on Bloor Street, University Avenue, and Yonge Street are now *protected* (get it?) from Doug Ford attempt to remove them.

He's proposing to consult First Nations before he creates totalitarian Special Economic Zones where no provincial laws apply, including labour and environmental. This is still insane. China and Russia has these - Trump wishes he does.

The ghouls will write "duty to consult" in the law, and then tell corpos it's open season. #DoFo has had 7 years to consult with indigenous folks to create legislation they could support, and they're telling us he didn't. Don't believe him when he says they'll uphold our duty to consult later.

We saw with Ontario Place that the government will clearcut and desecrate the land at an appalling pace and try to outrun the scandal later.
