Is there a braver backyard bird than the Willie Wagtail? This one was so un-scared he posed for a photo. I've heard stories of them chasing wedge-tailed eagles.

The Noongar name for Willie Wagtail is Djitti-djitti, which is onomatopoeic.

My favourite flower, the one I have tattooed on my thigh, is that of the Boolkala (Firewood Banksia) tree. It is currently in bloom in Perth. I saw these ones at the local bushland reserve.

Belmont probably has an existing Nyoongar name but if not, I think it should be Boolkalap "The Place of the Banksias"! 😃
