Following our spotlight yesterday on an album of field recordings from under the sea, here’s an album featuring field recordings from where the people are, up where they walk, up where they run, up where they stay all day in the sun, wanderin’ free…

I can’t find much information on this artist (and apparently that’s by design), but Ironic Hill is an anonymous middle-aged man somewhere in the UK, feeling his feelings through relatively frequent releases of beautiful nature-filled lo-fi folk captured via mostly outdoor DIY tape recordings, available only on limited runs of home-dubbed cassettes or digitally. On this one, you’ll hear birds, heartfelt piano, intimate guitar strumming, life, the sounds of someone trying to capture a peaceful, simple moment.
