Szymon Sokół 🇵🇱🇪🇺🇺🇦@dgar for starters - a popular one. That leaves you with a choice between Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora and Arch. Which of these you choose is mostly matter of personal preferences. If you want as little closed source "taint" as possible in your system, go with Debian. If you want bleeding edge features, then probably Fedora. But if you have an expert in one of the other distros at hand, choose that one - you'll always have someone to ask in case of problems. And whichever distro you choose, you probably want KDE as your window manager - its look and feel is most similar to MS Windows, so you'll have some familiarity.

- Laptop: Fedora
- Tablet: Debian Unstable
- Phone: PureOS
- Work PC: Ubuntu
- Server: Debian Stable
- Steam Deck: Arch Linux
- Data Storage: Manjaro
Hand me a device running any Linux distro and I will be happy to work with it.
But if you hand me a Windows PC the likelihood that I question your sanity increases by a lot.
Fossman@triskelion @purism I appreciate what GrapheneOS and other projects are doing. I wish gOS good luck in:
- getting early access to future #AOSP sources as development is no longer public.
- fixing the myriad of #Google shenanigans with the OS and Chromium.
- getting mental health help for the main developer - he deserves all the help he can get.
Unlike gOS, #Linuxphone development is not riding on decades of Google funded development of the OS. Progress is therefore slower but it is improving gradually.
Besides #PureOS, there is also #Mobian and #postmarketOS - I especially look forward to the latter's future #ImmutableOS version which would have security benefits as well.

Acerrimo amicoNatale, tempo di #DistroWar. Ho un portatile buono ma che se ne sta andando e lo vorrei usare per un esperimento: installare solo Linux e vedere se è possibile usarlo anche per #lavoro (dove è praticamente tutto windows). Mi hanno incuriosito le cose che ho sentito dire su PopOs e Solus perché anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte ma se sono troppo esotiche o immature non ho problemi a orientarmi su cose più classiche. Escludo solo Arch perché già lo uso su un altro PC e so com'è.

To summarize, none of them convinced me enough to move away from #linuxmint
This is a comment for people saying LM is a beginner distro. I've been using it for ~5 years now. And I admit, maybe that's part of the "problem" when thinking about a move. My workflow, scripts etc are all linked to that distro. In particular
in combination with the @mate desktop.
