$200 Million More For Clean Energy Here, There, & Everywhere - CleanTechnica

Investors have spotted green gold on the distributed generation (DERs) side of the clean energy movement, regardless of partisan politics.

Join us for TAO Energy Innovation Summit, an exciting gathering hosted by CMS Events.

Me, thinking: We have all these #renewables, #batteries and EVs that input and output #DC, our #grid needs renewing to connect all these things because we're electrifying and moving to #distributedgeneration, DC is way more efficient at transmission and uses less cabling. Wouldn't it be great if we converted our distribution grid to DC?

Wait, someone has already thought about all this and produced a super geeky report!

Great @TransitionShow episode 189 on Financing Energy Transition in emerging markets, role of #RooftopSolar for Commercial&Industrial customers

#DistributedGeneration Projects are very profitable, payback in 2-5 years. But recent years saw very little progress in developing countries despite years of Multilateral Development Bank support. Financing is channeled through local banks, unprepared for DG as asset class and #DueDiligence causes delays and bureaucracy.

[Episode #189] – Financing the Transition | The Energy Transition Show

Can we coordinate replacing fossil-fueled assets with clean, zero-carbon assets so that both systems remain functional and affordable during the transition? Why is it so much more expensive to finance clean energy projects than fossil fuel projects in emerging economies? And what can be done about it?

The Energy Transition Show
Increased energy-efficiency & #DistributedGeneration (e.g. mines or factories having their own microgrids) will continue to de-correlate grid throughput & economic activity.

You might ask: Why did utilities consistently over-estimate demand for two decades straight? The banal answer: Because they got paid to do so, and regulators weren't savvy enough to stop them. Read it and weep: https://bit.ly/3LdPDDE https://twi…
