What I #dislike about the new #StarTrek series #StarfleetAcademy:
1) The spaceship design looks too unrealistic. Parts that are not connected but still belong together do not look plausible.
2) The whole series feels like boomers tried to speak to youth in their language, and as a result, everything just comes across as cringe.
3) The commander's foot fetish is very cringe. In the first part, she was still wearing shoes.
4) The commander does not embody dignity or leadership when she sprawls in the commander's chair and reads a book while everyone else around her is working.
5) The commander has been struggling for years with the fact that she separated a mother from her child. The mother committed murder during a robbery. If she is so sensitive, she is completely unsuitable as a leader.
6) The cadets always act as if they don't have to take any responsibility. That's not fitting for Starfleet.
7) The sensory life form must learn at Starfleet and not be programmed. That is illogical, like so many other things.
What I like:
1) I like the Holo-Doctor from #Voyager. He plays well and gives a certain feeling of nostalgia for the old series.
I keep wondering whether no effort is put into scripts these days or whether the writers have lost their touch. Why is the output so poor nowadays?
TNG showed us how it can be done better: youtube.com/watch?v=fLHtFZDs0fโฆ <- I would have liked to see more of that.
