#Trump atty moved on to #disgorgement (the #NYAG is seeking $250M in purportedly ill-gotten gains from Trump et al).
Kise: “There's no demonstration of a [connection] between the purported ill-gotten gains & the defendants' (conduct).”
#Trump: “I think this a disgrace for people moving in & out of New York.”
The banks he did business w/were happy, Trump said. “The only complainant is you.”
The NYAG has shown plenty of evidence of the that Trump sent fraudulent statements of financial condition to banks & insurers to get favorable terms.
The judge found for the state on the top count, of #fraud, it is not as issue. The only thing to determine are the other counts & #disgorgement.
Importantly, in Sept, Justice #Engoron ruled in his partial #SummaryJudgment that #Trump et al are – as a decided matter of law – liable for #fraud; this trial is only deciding the remaining charges of #InsuranceFraud, #FalsifyingBusinessRecords, considering whether defendants "intentionally & materially" violated the laws & determining the amount of #disgorgement.
