This week, I reflect on generations shaped by difficult times and the endurance that follows them.

Today marks the birth anniversaries of my two grandmothers, both born during the Japanese Occupation in the Philippines:

My paternal grandmother, Lucy Teodoro, born on 24 May 1942—just 2 weeks and 4 days after the Battle of Corregidor.

My maternal grandmother, Delia Frivaldo, born on 24 May 1944, during the final difficult years of occupation.

Tomorrow also marks Igor Sikorsky Day, honoring Igor Sikorsky, whose work changed aviation and vertical flight forever.

From survival during wartime…
to innovation that lifted humanity into the skies…
history reminds us that resilience, discipline, and perseverance carry generations forward.

And for 35 weeks, the Single Through College Coalition continues with that same standard:
steady, focused, and consistent.

34 weeks.

Eight days ago, the graduation of the INC School For Ministers coincided with Victory Day, while exactly a week ago marked the 140th Birth Anniversary of Brother Felix Y. Manalo (1886–1963).

Today, I also greet one of the fresh graduates of INC-SFM on their birthday and milestone achievement.
This year feels different.
I still remember the pain I endured during the last SFM graduation in September 2025.
But compared to that difficult period, this year’s Special Worship Service that coincided with Victory Day reminded me that time changes perspective, endurance strengthens resolve, and discipline keeps you standing even after difficult moments.

That is also what these 34 weeks of the Single Through College Coalition have taught me:
stay consistent, stay disciplined, and keep moving forward regardless of what you carry internally.

This week also marks 40 years since the Chornobyl disaster (26 April 1986)—a reminder of how consequences can last for generations, and how discipline, responsibility, and accountability are never optional.

Time moves forward, but lessons remain.

A week after my birthday—no pause, just continuation.

Time moves forward, and so do we.

The Artemis II mission reminds us of what discipline and preparation can achieve—
the first return beyond Low Earth Orbit since Apollo, carrying historic firsts:
the first woman, first non-American, and first African-American on a lunar mission.

Progress doesn’t happen by chance.

It is built on consistency, focus, and the willingness to go further—step by step, week by week.
That is the standard.
