Find of the morning at B&Q - the AI disabling device. Available in other colours to suit other tastes.

First Android, now Gmail, Photos, Drive and more: Google is allowing Gemini AI access to all your data – even your emails, photos, calls, and texts. Follow these steps to turn off Gemini AI on Android and in all your Google Apps.
came across a nice browser add-on that disables the generation of AI overviews in search engines like duckduckgo: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-ai/
super useful if you don't keep site data across sessions or if you mostly browse in private windows.
for firefox / librewolf / whatever.

Do you use Adobe Acrobat, and have you noticed the (newish) AI ASSISTANT button* in the user interface? Did you know that you can disable it and the other generative AI features in Acrobat?
Instructions (for now) are here: https://www.wordsbywes.ink/articles/tools/turning-off-adobe-acrobats-ai-assistant/
*I'm not certain whether Adobe considers this a button, tool, or just a feature. It looks to be in the menu, so I'm calling it a button.
This morning, I opened a PDF to find Acrobat giving me an AI-generated summary of it. Since I frequently deal with unpublished manuscripts and other confidential documents for clients, I can’t have them processed by generative AI tools (and I don’t want my PDFs being read by LLMs either). So I spent part of the morning finding all the places Acrobat’s AI Assistant has to be turned off. Here they are.
