Gloriosa superba, or fire lily, is poisonous, toxic enough to cause human and animal fatalities if ingested. It has been used to commit murder or achieve suicide. Every part of the plant is poisonous and poisonings can occur when the tubers are mistaken for sweet potatoes or yams and eaten.

Rafflesia arnoldii, the corpse flower, is noted for producing the largest individual flower on Earth. It has a strong and unpleasant odor of decaying flesh and is found in both secondary and primary rainforests.

The galaxy flower is a type of petunia formally known as the petunia night sky. In colder temperatures, galaxy flowers show more white, and in hotter environments, they emphasize purple. The white dots will disappear entirely if the weather stays hot enough for long enough.

Ceratostigma plumbaginoides is the hardy blue-flowered leadwort, a species native to Western China usually found in rocky foothills. It has small ovoid leaves and bright blue flowers in late summer and early autumn. Contact to this plant can cause contact dermatitis. Caution and protective gloves should be worn when handling.
