On Tuesday, the #DigitalSummit #EUsummit25 took place in #Berlin.
Our alliance was represented there by several organisations, but only behind the scenes. There were very few representatives of civil society on stage.
Unfortunately, digital infrastructures oriented towards the common good did not play a role in the discussions. Neither social networks nor the role of OSS for digital sovereignty were sufficiently included.
We will continue to advocate for our four demands after the summit. ✨

Die Unternehmensberatung Bain & Company hat gerade errechnet, dass KI-Unternehmen im Jahr 2030 zwei Billionen (richtig gelesen: zweitausend Milliarden) US-Dollar einnehmen müssten, um ihre Ausgaben für Rechenleistung zu decken. Heute findet in Berlin der deutsch-französische Gipfel zu digitaler Souveränität statt. Uns erwarten flammende Bekenntnisse dazu, dass wir uns aus technologischer Abhängigkeit befreien müssen. Derweil treffen Bundes- und Landesregierungen im Wochentakt Entscheidungen, die diesem Ziel zuwider laufen.
