After a little bit of reading up on the docs I've now set up my personal #fediverse instance using #GoToSocial - smooth sailing so far, esp. with the provided compose file for use with podman: https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/latest/getting_started/installation/ I am using a #Caddy reverse proxy in front for SSL termination, since it does all the LetsEncrypt ACME stuff out of the box and the virtual host config is literally three lines long: https://caddyserver.com/docs/caddyfile/patterns#reverse-proxy This also includes WebSockets without additional parameters, so live updates from clients will work nicely. Speaking of clients, I now settled with panphy.social. A modern web-based UI, highly configurable, and the #vim-like key bindings are lovely <3 #selfhosting

Oh what a week in office land: not only #OnlyOffice vs. #EuroOffice (don't get me started on this one).

But also #collabora, main contributor to #LibreOffice, is kicked out of #TheDocumentFoundation, which leads them focusing on #CollaboraOffice. Not an April fool's joke although it sounds exactly like (a bad) one.

Microsoft says it's highly unlikely that US technology companies would turn off the services of European countries or politicians. Well, if you asked 2 years ago whether ICC officials would have had their MS subscriptions suspended, would they have said that it is a risk?

Of course not. #digitalsovereignity is the only reasonable course of action.
