In order to increase societal acceptance of technical and physical scientific developments, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is focusing on a close intermeshing with social sciences. Accordingly, the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology (SOT) was established in 2021. Now the new TUM Friedrich Schiedel Fellowship for Social Sciences and Technology is to take interdisciplinary collaboration of the social sciences with natural, engineering and life sciences as well as medicine to a new level at TUM.

The #AMPEL project operates a clinical decision support system in routine care and is continuously researching its application. We focus on increased #PatientSafety and improved diagnostics by harnessing the potential of #DigitalMedicine. In three German hospitals (>1500 beds), #AI models based mainly on laboratory data are applied in a randomized controlled setting. The project is funded by the German government #KHZG.
