Tonight at Halle am Berghain, 24 musicians perform the radical music of Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi in Orchestral Sessions: Phase One.
The compositions of Scelsi are sonic rituals, built not on traditional harmonies but on the vibration of single tones, expanded, explored and intensified until they reveal entire universes within them.

The Ukrainian-Canadian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk has composed over 120 works, many of them for solo piano. With his Continuous Music, he has developed a form and playing technique since the 1970s that opens up infinite acoustic and emotional spaces.
