It's #bandcampFriday ! I've wanted to plug this album for a while: https://fusoxide.bandcamp.com/album/the-dynamically-generated-future A brilliant chiptune adjacent album with a wide range of influences from low-poly fighting game soundtracks to PC MIDIs, demoscene MODs, and more! fusoxide follows in Blitz Lunar's footsteps and crafts one of my favorite albums since Triptunes. I think we can all agree The Dynamically Generated Future is better than the slop generated one we seem to be getting.

anyway, since people are doing the #introduction rounds again, and we just recently came back to fedi with the intention of being somewhat active again, thought we might do one again as well :) beware, its a lil long lol.
we’re Maddie! we’re actually plural, so you’ll see us use plural pronouns like we/our/us/etc, but we might use singular ones here too. we’re generally not as openly out outside of fedi and a few discords (and we were out plural on cohost too), and to some friends. each of us actually have individual accounts here too you can find linked on our bio.
we're composers. recently we released intersections through Infloresce Records. we also have composed for cartoons and video games. recent ones being Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp, and OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes
we're also ROM hackers and reverse engineers. we've done some commercial work, namely localization work for games like River City Girls Zero, Clock Tower: Rewind, and some that are still in the works.
you may have known us by our previous name of DJ Bouche, both as composer/remixer, and in the 2000s ROM hacking scene. we made several level editors and MIDI related tools. i say "previous", but we do still use that name from time to time, usually for things like hard dance music like happy hardcore and eurobeat, it's what the name is mostly known for, after all.
we're also software engineers in general and have worked in several tech companies, both startups and large ones. we're currently taking a break from tech, but may return to it soon. we find it's a field that's easy to burn out in, probably for reasons you can imagine. we try to do more than just engineering, and sometimes that results in fighting and standing up for things that are sadly neglected or even contentious. even should it happen that we don't end up contributing significantly there again, we have our heart set on open source for the long term.
in a past life we worked in supply chain and logistics, which is perhaps a story for another day. it's still an interest of ours, tho largely abandoned these days.
we've been dabbling in some forms of digital art, like pixel art, and 3D art, we might post more about that as that develops. we're trying to work on our game dev skills too, and hope to share more of that process too! we've been sitting on ideas for things like music/creative tools as well. but there's only so much time in the world, and so much that a single human body (even one filled with multiple ppl) can do.
anyhow, it's nice to meet y'all~ and to those already familiar with us, nice to see you again :)
