New blog post — about AI as assistive technology, the loneliness of thinking in a skin-deep culture, and why Socrates was wrong (but not entirely).

The paradox of writing it is baked into the post itself.

The Sparring Partner I Never Had | NW Digital Solutions

Socrates never wrote a word, yet we only know his ideas because someone did. Every generation panics about the new cognitive tool that will make us all stupider. Every generation is wrong. So why is AI any different — and what happens when it gives you the one thing most of us never had access to: a genuine sparring partner for your ideas? Most of us who think deeply have learned to do it quietly, alone. This post is about what changes when that finally becomes available to everyone. And yes, the irony of writing it is fully intentional.

When Systems Become Difficult to Use for the People They Serve

WebAIM just dropped their 2026 Million report. Eight consecutive years of evaluating 1 million homepages. The headline hasn't changed: over 95% have detectable WCAG failures. Eight years of industry conferences, training programs, legal mandates, and accessibility frameworks — and the needle barely moves. If your strategy isn't working, change the strategy. 🔗 https://a11yweekly.com/issue/494/ #a11y #Accessibility #WCAG #WebDev #DigitalInclusion

#ThrowbackFriday

Back in January, E-Seniors had the pleasure of presenting the NGI TALER project to a group of 61 participants during a dedicated event.

Together, they explored how GNU TALER works, shared its key outcomes, and discussed the benefits of the instant payment revolution.

It was a great opportunity to exchange with participants and raise awareness about innovative digital payment solutions.

Thank you to everyone who attended!

Freire's banking model of education: the teacher knows everything, the learner knows nothing, knowledge flows one way, dependency is the outcome.
It's also the default model for most IT training and support.
I've written about why No Worries IT tries to be the antithesis of that — and what Freirean pedagogy actually looks like when someone's learning to wire up a microcontroller.

Here's an under-discussed accessibility problem: AI assistive tools — the ones that genuinely help blind and visually impaired users navigate the web — keep getting blocked by bot detection systems. There's a quiet revolution in AI-powered accessibility. And websites are accidentally shutting it out. https://timdixon.net/blog/2026/04/ #a11y #Accessibility #AI #AssistiveTechnology #DigitalInclusion
