I don't remember having a proper cold for a while! Lying on the sofa makes me remember how in the Czech Republic all pharmacies had an entire section for different kinds of tea for remedy. They have it all: tea for heartburn, sore throat, hemorrhoids, muscle pain, headache, chesty cough... just name your symptoms, and they have the right tea.

Here in Finland, we have an old saying: "If sauna, tar, or vodka won't help, you'll die to it." I do think that sauna can really heal a lot of muscle ache and even a cold if you time it right (just before it hits you hard).

I don't think I'll never get over that my American husband thinks coke makes stomach bug go away... 😄

Do you believe or use some local traditional remedies for some sickness?

#TheComoros are home to many #differentcultures and groups and each island has a distinct identity. They were first settled by Bantu-speaking people and later by an ethnic group, the Shirazis, whose origin was in what is now south-western Iran. Among those who settled on the archipelago were peoples from South-East Asia, Madagascar, Arabia, and also Swahili speakers from the African coast. As a result, a diverse and unique culture developed on the islands.

The Comoros Archipelago and An Aged Tradition of Public Spaces

The Comoros is an archipelago of islands located off the East Coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean and north of Madagascar, and yet, one of the least known countries in Africa. Because of its relative isolation it has been largely able to preserve its traditional way of life, but even so, it has not been left untouched by the forces of globalization.
