I've been going over some of my old albums from The Greats such as: #jeffreylewis, #dianecluck, #dufus, etc.
Some really good stuff! I happen to own "Antifolk Vol 1" on CD; something whicn doesn't appear to be available any more. Alas, there was no "vol 2" follow-up.
In ~2002, I went to Brighton (seaside town in England) to see some Antifolk acts -- Jeffrey Lewis was there, and he was amazing. There was also #prewaryardsale who just seemed to exist as two people, one on vocals, and the other banging a drum, or an old KFC bucket, I couldn't quite recall. Happy days though. I did buy their album.
I know some of those folks have entered mainstream (Beck. Jeffrey Lewis, Major Matt Mason USA), but I hope the ethos of this music is still going strong. :)
