Ich habe eben wegen eines angeblich nicht zustellbaren (aber definitiv zustellbaren!) Paketes das dritte mal innerhalb von fünf Tagen bei #DHL angerufen. Alle drei haben mir unterschiedliche Dinge erzählt, aber ja, mein Paket würde erneut versucht zuzustellen.
Mein Paket wurde an den Absender zurückgeschickt.

Ja, #DHL. Ihr seid mal wieder die Helden überhaupt, wie immer. Erst anmelden, dass eine Sendung gestern bis Tagesende zugestellt werden soll, damit man sich extra auf den Empfang der Sendung vorbereiten soll, und dann nicht liefern. Jetzt soll die Sendung also am Folgetag kommen. Lassen wir uns überraschen…
Eure Logistik ist mittlerweile armselig. Das war vor 10 Jahren deutlich besser.
So, why did they decide, yet again, not to ring the bell, not to do their job?
There are two possibilities. The first is that the delivery person didn't want to do the little bit of manual paperwork involved in taking my import dues payment.
The second is that they saw my name, which is a very foreign name, and decided to go a different route.
I wonder how #DHL will react when I suggest racist undertones.
Another #DHL failure today. The difference here is that I saw the DHL van and driver in my street. I went into the house to get my wallet, to pay the import duties, came back out, and there was a card in my letterbox: delivery not possible; no one home.
They didn't even have my parcel in their hand when they stuck the readily prepared failure to deliver card into my letterbox.
But I was there, and I saw them, and my complaint to the company makes this so very, very clear.
The solution is to write to my supplier - copy DHL - and tell them I'll not be ordering from them any more, unless they change their delivery agent. I can order, in person, elsewhere.
It is slightly inconvenient, but not as inconvenient as having to wait a fortnight for a simple delivery, and then going out to buy supplies to keep me going anyway.
Some things in life are inconvenient, but better in the long run. A local business will profit.
... the thing is, I am one of many millions who work. And my working times are much the same as the post office's opening times - they should have decent hours too.
So unless I finish work early - making a financial loss - to collect my parcel, I have to wait until next Saturday - Friday is a national holiday.
So a guaranteed, over-the-weekend delivery through DHL takes a fortnight.
What to do? I have a solution...
... my local post office is only open until 13.00, the package was placed on the delivery van at 10.32. Enough time, you might think, for the van to get from the local depot to the destination.
No, I am told at the post office, they don't receive deliveries on a Saturday, they get held over to the following Monday. So that's a week since the promised delivery date, and no guarantee that it will work. My packages have been out for delivery before, and never made it. And...
The saga of DHL's incompetence continues with their attempted delivery [sic] of my latest parcel. I mentioned it before, I suspect, but it has progressed since then. A parcel they promised would be delivered on Monday, 22 September 2025, and then promptly lost.
It took an official complaint to wake them up, and even then it took another two days before there was any reaction.
And where are we now? A promise the parcel will be delivered to my local post office today. But...
