Issues getting wallpaper script to run with (X)Wayland

I'm using a script I modified from here to change my wallpaper(and in-terminal colors to match). It works when I run it from the command line, but not when I use crontab trying to make it run

This is now my desktop and browser backgrounds.

I used several brushes/image assets of my own making and a few brushes downloaded from the ClipStudio Asset store.

There is a folder that I can't select, open or delete on the lower part of the screen and unmounted volume in the side bar: I don't know how to fix this. The folder shows with any application.
