Is it ever OK to use someone else's toothbrush?
By Kellie Scott

About half of us have shared a toothbrush โ€” usually between spouses, or parents and children. We asked the experts if it's a good idea, even in an emergency.

Is it ever OK to use someone else's toothbrush?

About half of us have shared a toothbrush โ€” usually between spouses, or parents and children. We asked the experts if it's a good idea, even in an emergency.

Well, I applied for a renewal of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). And it was a horrendous process. I went through loads of verification events and oodles of questions. I imagine there are a lot of people who would find it overwhelming. It can't be soon enough that we get an NDP majority government to simply make it universal and eliminate such bullshit.

Oral cancer can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. Yet, many donโ€™t realize how important it is to get screened regularly. Early detection can boost survival rates up to 85%! Watch for warning signs like persistent mouth sores, red or white patches, difficulty swallowing, or numbness in your mouth and face. If you notice anything unusual lasting more than two weeks, see a professional immediately.

Remember, screenings are quick, painless, and can be done during your regular dental checkup. Donโ€™t waitโ€”protect your health by staying informed and proactive.

Your health matters. Spread the word this April during Oral Cancer Awareness Month!

Dental hygiene doesnโ€™t need to be complicatedโ€”but it does need to happen.

Here are a few simple staples from our blog:
โœ”๏ธ Brush twice dailyโ€”once after dinner if you can
โœ”๏ธ Use floss picks or dental sticks on-the-go
โœ”๏ธ Keep a small mouthwash in your kitโ€”no water, no problem
โœ”๏ธ Encourage community members to follow alongโ€”lead by example

Together, we can make oral health an accessible part of wellbeing for everyone.
