The pavilion of the Whitevale Bowling Club in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow, as seen from Golfhill Drive. Built in the early 1900s, seen from this angle, it always reminds me of an old-fashioned railway signal box.

It was Heron vs Everybody down at the pond earlier today... wish I'd had a camera!

The little birds were making so much noise everyone passing by stopped to look. Even the moorhens were having a go, getting up to the heron - couldn't see exactly what they were trying to do. Coots shouting all over the place. One swan on the nest, and another one all puffed up, between the heron and the nest and hissing whenever the heron moved towards it.

Love this French Renaissance style cupola on Duke Street tenement in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow, especially the circular windows.

A rather stylish block of red sandstone tenements on Golfhill Drive in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow, complete with a dome-topped feature corner which is so typical of the city's late Victorian and Edwardian architecture

A statue of William Frederick Cody, better known as the American Showman Buffalo Bill, erected in Dennistoun in 2006 to mark the 115th anniversary of his Wild West Show's visit to Glasgow between Nov 1891 and Feb 1892.

Alexandra Park in the East End of Glasgow looking as spectacular as ever in this afternoon's sunshine.

The cast-iron 1880s Alexandra Parade Drinking Fountain in the East End of Glasgow. Attributed to Cruickshank & Co., it's identical to the Sun Foundry’s drinking fountain number 3. In the background is the entrance to Alexandra Park, which was created by the City Improvement Trust in the 1860s, and these gates are thought to date from this time.

Good morning, Glasgow. Cherry blossom season continues here in the city, with this tree in Dennistoun looking spectacular against this 1874 blonde sandstone corner tenement.

It is one of seven Glasgow Milestones across the city commissioned to mark Glasgow's nomination as European City of Culture in 1990. For some reason, this one always reminds me of Rank Bajin, the arch enemy of Loby Dosser.

The Dennistoun Milestone on Duke Street in Glasgow. Created in 1991 by Jim Buckley, it has an interior space containing a number of local artefacts, including a clay pipe found at Whitehill School, a bottle of water from the Molendinar, a text about life in a Glasgow tenement and a tobacco knife from the nearby Wills Tobacco Factory.
