📰 "A pervasive feeling of uncertainty may be contributing to the #babybust. Ann Berrington, a #demographer at the University of #Southampton, has shown that #childless Britons who think they are faring worse than their #parents at the same age are significantly less likely to expect to have a #baby. #Lowearners are also more likely to remain living at home."

Research by CPC-CG member Professor Ann Berrington is cited in The #Economist.

Ten years after the EU referendum, Britain has become more European

Britain has become more European since Brexit, with falling birth rates, young people living at home longer and economic growth matching the euro zone.

#MissKittyRaw Women rule. Men drool. Control your pussy or somebody else probably is. - “We spent decades #shaming #women for having kids under the wrong circumstances, for not having their ducks in a row,” said Ms. #Guzzo, the #demographer. “Now they are holding up their end of the bargain.”

"I did not begin studying #Jewish #demography to produce #statistics. I began because I love my people deeply—and I felt, in my bones, how close we have come to vanishing.

So I calculated—not as a cold #demographer or #historian pronouncing closure, but as a #Jew unwilling to let our survival go unmeasured, uncontemplated, unhonored. Those calculations live in #JewishContinuity Against the Numbers. They are mine, offered humbly: not as final truth, but as an act of love, memory, and responsibility. They place our endurance in honest proportion to the forces that have tried, again and again, to erase us.

The numbers revealed awe. Had we been allowed to grow undisturbed by centuries of #murder, #expulsion, #forcedconversion, and #annihilation, we might number approximately 165 million today. Instead, we are roughly 15.7 million—not by chance, but by survival against relentless hostility.

Now a subtler danger threatens: the murder of #memory."

That website was pivotal in undermining #populationGrowth concerns in the 2010s and as a result set back movements to empower women, and to secure #familyPlanning and other services. With the help of an elevated #demographer at the #BBC, the world saw a marked increase in #fertility as a result, The problem of #unwantedBirths is a huge and they basically helped fuel it.

It has helped to plunge more people into various forms of poverty, modern slavery, precarity etc.
