Il merito è dell’alpinista italiano Leonardo Avezzano, che ha completato questa impresa sportiva per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sulla tragedia di Gaza e sull’impatto del genocidio sulle vittime più giovani, i bambini. Sulla bandiera palestinese infatti erano scritti i sogni dei bambini di Gaza: i loro desideri per un futuro migliore.
La spedizione era guidata dalll’alpinista giordano-palestinese Mostafa Salameh, che però non è riuscito a raggiungere la vetta. “Questi sono sogni: tutti i bambini hanno sogni e possono realizzarli se noi li aiutiamo”, ha detto Salameh spiegando l’iniziativa. “A Gaza è tutto più difficile. Per questo avevamo bisogno che il mondo intero lo sapesse. E quale modo migliore per farlo se non portare tutto questo sul tetto del mondo“. L’impresa è riuscita grazie ad Avezzano: “La prima cosa che ho pensato di fare, una volta arrivato in vetta, è stata alzare il drappo, alzare l’aquilone e dedicare questo sforzo che abbiamo compiuto ai bambini di Gaza“.

Confermata in appello la condanna a otto mesi di reclusione per Andrea Delmastro, ex sottosegretario alla Giustizia, accusato di rivelazione del segreto d’ufficio nel caso legato all’anarchico Alfredo Cospito. I giudici hanno inoltre precisato che il deposito delle motivazioni della sentenza avverrà entro 90 giorni.
Al termine dell’udienza, davanti ai cronisti presenti, Delmastro ha dichiarato: “Non condivido la decisione della Corte d’appello, ma ne prendo atto. Non ho alcuna intenzione di fermarmi qui. Andrò fino in Cassazione, forte di quattro richieste assolutorie, nella certezza di riuscire finalmente a dimostrare la correttezza del mio operato, senza se e senza ma”.
