@steko @ppdelft Wow, they make it really difficult to exercise your right of #privacy. This company has a totally wrong business model. I recommend to not use any of their services: #DeleteMeta, #DeleteFacebook, #DeleteInstagram, #DeleteWhatsApp, #DeleteThreads

Thoughts on Xitter

I (sadly) still see people posting links to X here on Mastodon, even if their intentions are good. For example, if someone is trying to draw attention to something terrible posted over on Xitter, or to share an important news story that they happened to read there. (First of all though, why are they *still* using Xitter?)

ANYWAY… even if you have the best of intentions, please stop driving traffic over to Xitter! All you need to do is either grab a screenshot and post it here, or copy the link to the *actual* story that was posted on Xitter and post *that* here.

You can still draw attention to things that were posted on Xitter without having to drive traffic there, nor drive traffic *through* there to the actual desired news site.

(P.S. This also applies to anything Meta. Let’s stop feeding those beasts with traffic and links. That can be siphoned off, and we can still discuss them as needed without inadvertently helping bad actors.)
