This is something I need to do for my (minor but obvious) social media addiction.
The positive outcome of spending less time on social media? Having more time to do other, more interesting things.
There are only so many hours in a day and only so many days in our lives. When I think of how much time I wasted on Twitter and Facebook back when my addiction was very bad, I want to cry.

Addiction Mitigation Strategy: In your own head or on paper (which usually is best, even if you burn it), define the positive outcome you would like from not doing that thing. For me, it helps to work toward something, not away from something. Running away makes me do dumber things. #addiction #recovery
🗑️ Finally deleted #instagram yesterday after going through the unnecessarily (and surely intentionally) slow "export your data" process several times because I kept missing the 4-day window that the download link was made available.
That's 2 down, 1 to go before the end of 2025.
People on here who complain about the politics on Substack — are you still on Facebook or another Meta platform? If so, check your hypocrisy.
Really, everyone needs to get off those platforms. Now. They only have power over us because we’re willing to give it to them, and unwilling to deal with the inconvenience of finding alternatives.
