With the kids in Oslo, so as to be away from home for some hours. We park on a free spot (free on Sundays) and then walk to the #Deichman #bibliotek.
There was a SUP trip and another bibliotek in plans when we left but we stayed too long in Oslo. They wanted home to gaming.
Trist at det nye hovedbiblioteket i hovedstaden ikke har nok sykkel-p-stativer til at det er plass til alle midt i arbeidsdagen, engang.

Velkommen til Tidsskriftbonanza, en feiring av norske tidsskrifter! I kveld: Forloren skildpadde I og II på GULLBERG & BOSTADLØKKEN i Salgshallen i Storgata 36a. Møt Nina Schjønsby og Emma Aars til en samtale om tidsskriftpublisering før og nå. Samtalen ledes av Gullberg & Bostadløkkens egen Olivia McIntyre. Forloren skildpadde var Camilla Collett og Emilie Diriks selvpubliserte tidsskrift, som kom ut med seks numre i 1837. I fjor ga Nina Schønsby ut boka Gi meg alt du kan, som tar for seg hvordan de to venninnenes skapte seg et rom hvor de selv kunne definere hva som var verdt å skrive om, og hvordan. Forloren skildpadde er også Emma Aars og Julia K. Asklunds nye tidsskrift, hvis første utgave er nummerert som nr. 7, i direkte forlengelse av Collett og Diriks tidsskrift. Tidsskriftbonanza er et samarbeid mellom Tekstallmenningen i Bergen og Deichman Grünerløkka. Sammen inviterer til to uker med tidsskriftutstillinger og tidsskriftarrangementer i hele Oslo. Tidsskriftbonanza er støttet av Fritt ord.
Over recent months, I’ve not spent too much time reading ‘the news’. There’s a lot going on in the world and have found that on a day-to-day basis, ignorance is bliss, but I do want to dip my toe in the water every now and again.

I have been informed that students of the University of Oslo can also access the same service using your student membership.

Well, fortunately for you, you can most likely access the PressReader catalogue of newspapers and magazines for free through your local library or university.
PressReader has a HotSpot map which lists all the organisations on there that will give you full or restricted access.
“But I don’t have a library card…”
Well, get one! Seriously.
A lot of libraries now offer many digital services; from free ebooks and audiobooks, to free music streaming and free movie streaming, in addition to the standard lending of physical books, movies, video games and music.
Oslo library even hosts classes to practice Norwegian, has a podcast studio, lets you borrow power tools or use their 3D printers.
It’s a great community resource and doesn’t cost you a thing to sign up!
