#Urgent

Just got an urgent Mutual Aid Request from comrades who are attempting to save a homeless couple's RV from impound in a scheduled sweep just a couple hours away.

Changing a tire like this on the morning of a sweep is extremely high risk for everyone involved. Multiple comrades have been arrested in similar situations.

Anything helps and time is of the essence!

I know it's tough while we're in this backlash moment about police accountability, but the #defundspd effort was right. But at the least we must have real accountability for rogue police departments!

Data Shows Seattle Police Speed Constantly, Even When They Aren't Responding to Calls - PubliCola

By Andrew Engelson Seattle Police Department officers frequently drive at excessive and dangerous speeds, PubliCola has learned using GPS data…

I have no words. A police officer drove at 74 MPH in a 25 MPH zone without sirens, struck and killed a person in a crosswalk, got away with a second-degree negligent driving and a $5,000 fine, failed to pay the fine, and is now contesting the citation. He didn't even have a valid driver's license when the incident occurred. And he is still employed by SPD.

VIDEO: Two Seattle Police Officers Caught on Camera Repeatedly Hitting Suspect

SPD policy allows officers to use force, such as hitting, punching, knee strikes, and batons in order to arrest someone as long as officers use necessary and proportional force. Officers may not kneel on a person’s neck, though it’s unclear if that’s what happened in this video.
